Muuni Fund Participates in ITU Acceleration Centres Workshop on Policy Experimentation
The Third Meeting of the ITU Acceleration Centres and Global I-CoDI (International Centre of Digital Innovation) Workshop on Policy Experimentation took place from August 18-22, 2025, bringing together international partners to advance digital policy innovation.
The UAE's Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) hosted the five-day intensive program as part of their Partner2Connect pledge supporting the ITU-TDRA International Center of Digital Innovation (I-CoDI). This initiative demonstrates an ongoing commitment to empowering Member States in advancing digital transformation.
As one of the ITU National Acceleration Centres, Muuni Fund participated in comprehensive training guided by the Alliance's Policy Experimentation Playbook. The program covered four key areas:
- policy & strategy development - Creating adaptive regulatory frameworks
- Regulatory benchmarking - Comparing and analyzing best practices across jurisdictions
- Living labs & regulatory sandboxes design - Building controlled environments for policy testing
- Priority area implementation - Translating frameworks into actionable strategies
The workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of centre participants to foster innovation-friendly regulatory environments and advance digital economic growth across Member States. Through collaborative learning and practical exercises, participants acquired the tools to navigate the complex challenges of regulating emerging technologies while fostering innovation.

The program's emphasis on policy experimentation provides acceleration centres with evidence-based approaches to digital governance, enabling more effective responses to rapidly evolving technological landscapes.
